Calibraton

In order to calibrate our thermistor and pressure sensor, we organised a trip to Butler Group in Maynooth, who agreed with open arms to allow us to come into their office where they would calibrate our project.

Using just a regular lunchbox from the local Tesco and a pressure pump, they were able to build us a pressure chamber. They put a hole in the lunchbox and stuck the pump in the hole and sealed it. Using the pump, they could identify and change the air pressure inside the lunchbox. We placed our Arduino inside the lunchbox, recorded the amount of millibars shown on our program and compared them with the readings on the pressure pump at a particular time.

The temperature was calibrated using an industrial temperature regulator to heat and cool the surroundings of the Arduino. We were able to see the temperature changing on the thermostat of the industrial temperature regulator and we noted the temperature at certain voltages on our program.

A huge thank you to Butler Group
