Leinster Regional Champions!!!!!

A few days ago was the day we had being leading up to, all our work put in throughout the past few months would all come down to this one day. We set off for Wicklow early Wednesday morning and got there at around 9:30am with launch starting at 10:00am. We arrived at Newcastle Aerodrome well prepared for what was about to face us with a backup CanSat and parachute in case something went wrong as well as tools to solve any technical problems we encountered. All went well and we had a very successful launch, on a very windy day. Our CanSat was one of the only ones to transmit data as well as return safely to the ground.

After the launch, we went to a hotel in the nearby town of Newtown, where we were served a meal and given time to prepare for our presentation. We spent the next hour or so fixing up our powerpoint presentation and trying to remember what we were going to say. Our time came to present and all of us were nervous about what was about to happen. After our presentation, we were asked a few questions which I think we handled pretty well. When it came to the results, none of us were expecting to win, as we had no secondary mission, but the judges must have been really impressed with our primary mission as they preferred ours to most of the others. We were crowned joint victors of the Leinster CanSat regional final along with a team from Belvedere College and it was a day I'll never forget!!
